LABELS & CERTIFICATIONS
ECOVERO - The Ecovero Lenzing is an ecological fiber made of wood pulp stem from sustainable forests, FSC (Forest Stewardship Council) or PEFC (Pan European Forest Certification). The Eco Vero label only recognize products that are sustainable from raw materials, fabrication, distribution to the end of the life cycle of the product. Up to 50% of energy and water waste are avoided in the fabrication process of an EcoVero Lenzing.
OEKO TEX - Born in 1992, Oeko Tex is an independent certification that aims to control the use of harmful substances in the textile industry. It is today one of the most widespread testing certification, and worldwide recognized. Oeko tex certified comapanies are regularly audited to provide the most relevant and sure certification possible.
EUROPEAN FLAX - Our certified Flax is grown from Caen to Amsterdam, from France to the Netherland. France is the world greatest producer, it has always fostered economic flourishing in rural areas. Today, these European producers are united around The European Flax label, that guarantees the origin of the flax and the sustainability of the production. For example, all the plant is use in order to avoid wastage, the use of fertilizers is highly reduced, and GMO are totally prohibited.
GOTS - "The Global Organic Textile Standard", as known as GOTS, is a worldwide certification providing the guarantee that the use of toxic bleaches, dyes or other chemical inputs is highly limited during the fabrication process.
To be certified, at least 70% of the fabric must be organic and the environmental impact should be very low to avoid any water and energy waste. Wastewater should be treated responsibly and is very supervised. A fabric certified GOTS, could reduce greenhouse gases emissions up to 94% comparing to a non certified fabric.
As for the social aspect, workers rights need to be strictly respected in a matter of discrimination, child work and forced labour.
BETTER COTTON INITIATIVE - Cotton is one of the only fiber produced all around the world, it permits hundreds of thousands farmers to earn a living. BCI is as large and spread as cotton’s production is, it is a worldwide initiative. It aims at building a more sustainable sector reducing the impact of cotton’s production production, reducing water wastage, improving fiber quality and preserving biodiversity and soil health. BCI act against the use of chemicals so that it preserve soil health, it protects crops and people’s health.
Socially, BCI promotes and ensures a safe work place for its producers and improves their livelihood.
LEATHER WORKING GROUP - Leather Working Group is a non-profit organization responsible for the world's leading environmental certification for the leather manufacturing industry.
The goal of the LWG is to align manufacturers in the leather sector with several environmental and social obligations and promote sustainable management and commercial practices related to environmental protection, such as reducing the use of environmental and health damaging chemicals, increasing the workers’ safety, and lowering the water and energy consumption.
RESPONSIBLE WOOL STANDARD - RWS certification was implemented to ensure animal welfare in farms. It provides regular verifications and audits, and allows more transparency for fashion brands. The RWS requires all sites to be certified, beginning with the wool farmers and through to the seller in the final business to business transaction. Usually the last stage to be certified is the garment manufacturer or brand. Farms are certified to the Animal Welfare and Land Management and Social Modules of the RWS.
GRUPPO MASTROTTO - The Mastrotto Group, who supplies the leather used in some of our Rosaé bags and shoes, can now be labelled as “Carbon Neutral” with respect to direct and indirect emissions – meaning that they do not have any negative impact on global warming.
Gruppo Mastrotto has managed to offset both Scope 1 emissions – those generated directly by assets owned by the company or assets that the company controls operationally – and Scope 2 emissions which include emissions indirectly generated through the type of energy used.
The Carbon Neutrality certification is the result of reducing greenhouse gas emissions starting from the optimization and efficiency of the production process: from the use of solar panels, to lower water consumption, from reduction in the use of chemical products to the introduction of methods of continuous improvement in production. Subsequently, the company decided to purchase only electricity from certified renewable sources.
CIRCULAR FABRIC STANDARD - Respecting ISO 14021 standards, this label provides the guarantee that the dead-stocks are transformed and upcycled, bringing high quality designer fabrics, which would otherwise be destroyed, back into the fashion industry. CFS provides a second life to fabrics, ensuring reliability, transparency and sustainability. All the partners operate in accordance to international chemical restrictions and comply with an ethical code of conduct.
NONA SOURCE - Nona Source is a LVMH platform that re-values dead-stock fabrics. The platform provides high quality standards, all fabrics come from recognized luxury houses. They promote and push forward a more sustainable and circular fashion, fostering innovation and creation.
SOCIAL RESPONSIBILITY
LIVING HERITAGE COMPANY - The EPV label was created in 2005 by the French government. EPV states for Living Heritage Company. It identifies and highlights unique and highly technical know-how in French workshops made by French artisans. It only concerns arts and culture, gastronomy, and industry.
This label fosters the excellence "à la francaise" and its influence worldwide. Their complementary programm helps the EPV representants to improve their communication abroad and their exportation process. The French government also provides fiscal reductions and partner investors enable to develop EPV labeled companies growth projects and financing campaigns.
SOLIDARITY BASED ENTREPRISE OF SOCIAL UTILITY - Solidarity based Entreprise of social utility is a specific certification for French companies. Their main goal should be of social utility: helping the most vulnerable, fostering education or sustainable developement. To be certified, the company needs to prove their economic and social impact. Concerning the executives remuneration, it could not exceed 7 times the minimal French salary. Their auctions could not be valorized in stock exchange.

SAMIL - Samil Fibres was born in 1992, in South Africa where they built decades of know-how in the mohair making. Their mohair yarns are made of the finest natural fibers. They blend their mohair with a beautiful and also responsible silk. This mohair provides a beautiful lustre, is durable, has a great elasticity, unable moisture retention and is very resistant to soiling.
The fibre is produced in very sustainable farms, where the Samil Organisation helps farmers to become independent, to preserve their jobs and know-how. The organization also guarantees the perfect traceability of their yarns.
AMFORI BSCI – AMFORI BSCI is a community that enables companies to monitor, engage, get empowered and receive support to put sustainable trade at the heart of their business.
The companies joining the AMFORI BSCI agree to uphold a specific Code of Conduct which sets out various labour principles, such as the Rights of Freedom of Association and Collective Bargaining, a fair remuneration, the prohibition of bonded labor, the protection of the environment, the guaranty of decent working hours, the ban of child labor, the prohibition of precarious employment, an ethical business behavior, the protection of the workers’ health and safety, or the ban of any discrimination.
To be a part of the AMFORI BSCI community, companies are strictly audited, which guaranties a high level of social and economic responsibility through the global supply chain.
