The Care Guide
TAKING CARE OF YOUR ROSAE TREASURES
Your Rosaé Paris garments are made of the most luxurious and exquisite fabrics, such as Made in France tweeds, silks, upcycled fabrics from the LVMH Luxury Houses, and many more.
As such, we recommend the utmost delicacy when it comes to the care and washing of your piece: for this reason, the care of your beautiful pieces should always be entrusted to a professional.
Please note that whatever the care option you choose, Rosaé Paris can not be held responsible for any damaged clothes during the washing or cleaning process.
However, if you're used to looking after your clothes at home, or have confidence in your washing machine, we leave it to you to adapt our care tips. Nevertheless, we recommend that you always take the utmost care!
To help you with the daily care of our most beautiful pieces, here are our tips and tricks:
KNITWEAR
WASHING YOUR KNITS
To avoid accidents, we always recommend that you entrust the care of your beautiful knitwear to a professional.
However, if you're used to looking after your knits yourself, you can opt for hand-washing in cold or lukewarm water (20°C max). Be extra careful with the temperature, even a baby’s bath is already 37 degrees and way too hot for your knit.
Use a very small amount of a special wool detergent - be careful, too much or the wrong detergent can cause the fabric to felt.
Your knitwear should be washed gently, avoiding soaking for more than a few minutes. Then when rinsing, take care not to wring it.
DRYING YOUR KNITS
We recommend drying your wool knitwear in the shade, flat on a towel and on a flat surface (table, bed, etc.) to preserve its shape and quality. Don't forget to fold the sleeves so they don't stretch.
CARE FOR YOUR KNITS
When it comes to storage, always fold your beloved knits, and never hang them: this would deform them.
It's normal for some pilling to appear over time due to daily rubbing. If this bothers you, you can (very gently) use a pilling razor or a comb.
Unfortunately, moths love wool, so to prevent them from taking up residence in your dressing room, we recommend placing a few cedar balls or lavender inside.
LEATHER
SMOOTH OR GRAINED LEATHER
Leather is like skin: it needs to be moisturized and protected to be happy and as beautiful as on the first day you met !
Our tips:
1- Brush the leather regularly with a soft brush.
2- Apply colorless beauty cream with a soft cloth - always put the product on the cloth, not directly on the leather.
3- Brush again to distribute the product.
4- Buff with a soft, clean cloth.
5- Use the cleansing milk in case of stains.
In the event of serious staining, we recommend that you consult a leather specialist.
GLOSSY LEATHER
Our glossy leather pieces require very little maintenance, as it is a very resistant leather.
We recommend only regular brushing to remove dust and shine. Be careful not to use beauty creams or cleansing milk, which could fade the original finish.
In the event of serious staining, we recommend that you consult a leather specialist.
SUEDE LEATHER
We recommend the gentlest care for crust and suede leather.
To keep your suede leather happy and beautiful, try and brush it from time to time (we recommend once a week for shoes) with a soft brush.
To protect your suede leather pieces, regularly apply a waterproofing product, and if possible, a product to revive the color and restore the shine of your leather.
If the suede leather is wet, allow to dry in the open air, never next to a heat source. Once dry, brush your piece with a soft brush.
In the event of serious staining, we recommend that you consult a leather specialist.
DELICATE FABRICS
TWEEDS
For these luxurious fabrics such as tweed, we recommend taking it to a professional, for dry cleaning only.
COATS & JACKETS
For these luxurious fabrics such as wool, cashmere and others, we recommend taking it to a professional, for dry cleaning only.
SILK
For your silk items, if you’re familiar with its care and feel confident hand-washing it at home, choose a liquid detergent for wool or delicate fabrics, and avoid fabric softeners at all costs. As silk becomes more delicate when wet, don’t leave your piece to soak for too long, and take care not to wring it.
Dry your garment by carefully wrapping your piece in a towel and pressing gently to remove excess water before drying. Hang your garment on a hanger in the open air, away from direct sunlight.
DENIM
Learn more about raw denim
One of the characteristics of raw denim (which has not undergone washing) is that it is “saturated” with indigo and will therefore evacuate the dye.
The color can therefore sometimes “bleed”, which may be leaving indigo stains on your light-colored shoes, your white shirt or even your sofa in contact with the denim. However, this is not a quality problem.
Before your first use
When you receive it, soak your new jeans overnight in a basin of warm water containing a glass of coarse salt to fix the color. Then wash it at 30°C with other dark garments, and leave it to air-dry.
You are ready to wear your new jeans!
